Faith is about promises, not evidence. Here's today's Bible Minute.
Hebrews 11 mentions people who had almost no evidence of what was to happen, yet they still had faith. Look at verse 13. "These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth."
Faith essentially flourishes when we look at the promises of God, and we say, "OK God, I don't know how You're going to do that, but I believe You. I trust Your character." You see, faith is belief in the righteous character of God. Saying to God, "I don't know how You can fulfill that promise, but if You made it, I believe You'll fulfill it."
You look at the promises of God, and you say, "I believe those promises based on the fact that I believe in the character of God."
