Not Slowing Down

Meet Vicki

It was 42 years ago that Vicki first put her faith in Jesus Christ. "It was Sunday morning at the end of the service," she told us via email. That same evening she was baptized. "Now I am still enjoying my awesome Savior many years later!"

Today, at 66 years old, Vicki isn't slowing down. Every morning finds her in her overstuffed chair reading the Bible listening for God's direction before she begins her day as a high school teacher. Vicki's constant prayer is, "to stay surrendered to the Lord every moment of every day." She points to Acts 13:22 as a particular inspiration:

"After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: 'I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.'" (NIV)

Vicki continues, "That's my prayer. That I would do all He wants me to do and be a woman after His own heart." She's particularly grateful for the ministry of goTandem. Though she returns home exhausted from teaching, she has set goTandem to send her messages at just the right time to help receive strength from God's Word each day.

And Vicki uses goTandem to reach out to others in her community and family. "I have opportunity to share with my students and many have signed up and are gradually getting more engaged in the Word." And of her cousin, Vicki tells us, "I am not sure that he knows Jesus yet. But he does now faithfully read his goTandem messages."

To all who support goTandem, Vicki sends this encouragement, "you are making a difference for our Lord!"
