Spiritual Fitness Center Research

Developing tools
and resources that lead
to life transformation

Research plays a key role in our mission to help people grow spiritually. Spiritual Fitness Center works with researchers at the Center for Bible Engagement (CBE) to find out how people best connect with Scripture and what difference it makes in their lives.

Spiritual Fitness Center seeks to answer the question: Why do so many people own Bibles but so few read them? We go beyond simple Bible usage statistics to consider attitudes and behaviors that significantly impact spiritual growth and a person's relationship with God. The primary goal of the Spiritual Fitness Center is to develop tools and resources that will engage people with God's Word.

For the past 20 years, Spiritual Fitness Center has been addressing the matters of Bible absorbtion and spiritual fitness. Our researchers have surveyed more than 400,000 people around the world about their spiritual lives. Today the Center is led by
Dr. Arnie Cole & Dr. Pamela CaudillBrowse in-depth research findings below.

The Power of 4 Effect

We base our research on one of the key discoveries from the Center for Bible Engagement -The Power of 4 Effect, that the life of someone who engages scripture 4 or more times a week looks radically different from the life of someone who does not. In fact, the lives of Christians who do not engage the Bible most days of the week are statistically the same as the lives of non-believers.

Someone who engages the Bible 4 or more times a week is:

228%

more likely to share faith with others

407%

more likely to memorize scripture

59%

less likely to view pornography

30%

less likely to struggle with loneliness
