Crown of Righteousness

in Second Coming/Rapture/End Times

Looking ahead has its own reward. Find out more on today's Bible Minute.

By the time he wrote 2 Timothy Paul knew that his life's work was pretty well over. He looked back on all that God had done through him, and he had a certain degree of satisfaction in all that. In 2 Timothy 4:8, he says, "There's laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award me on that Day." He goes on in the verse and he says, "And not to me only, but also to all those who love His appearing."

The crown of righteousness comes to everyone who just can't wait for the Lord Jesus to come back. You pray, "Lord, let it be today, Maranatha. Even so, come Lord Jesus." If you're anticipating the return of the Lord, this could be the crown that you're awaiting at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
