Need a definition of faith? Then stay tuned for today's Bible Minute.
Faith is confidence in the righteous character of God--confidence that fosters trust and hope even when our circumstances foster doubt and despair.
Hebrews chapter 11 is the Bible's "Great Faith Chapter." And the lesson we learn from Hebrew 11 is this: You don't suddenly become a giant of faith because of success in your life. Beginning at verse 32: " And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David"--the list goes on and on.
These people did not become people of faith as a result of their success. They were people of faith long before they had a trial. You see, they were prepared because they spent time with God in His word, each and every day.
