You ask if I can turn to God in the face of a setback. I have been undergoing chemo therapy for Stage 4 pancreatic cancer for the past 6 months. I have a CT scan and see my oncologist every 8 weeks. Each CT scan has shown dramatic shrinkage of my tumors on my pancreas, adrenal gland and lymph nodes. So far, it has been easy for me to turn to the Lord and thank Him daily for his gracious healing power. I pray, and ask for your prayers, that I can just as easily turn to him and thank Him if it is His will that at some point my current treatment plan stops working for me. As a newly-baptized Christian, it would be my first setback and disappointment. I am confident that I will remain steadfastly dependent on Him and His plan for me, but I won't know for sure until I come to that bridge and cross it in faith, joy and determination. Thank you, and God bless you! Your daily devotionals are an inspiration to me.
