Read Ephesians 3:20-21
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
Reflect
What steps do you take to rely on God's strength and not your own?
Striving is doing things in our own strength, worrying about pleasing people with our performance. Working while resting is doing our preparation and yielding to God, but letting Him do the work through us. And as we work resting rather than striving, we will see Jesus more and more because He will be the One doing more than we could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20-21).
Much of the striving we do in life doesn't produce lasting results anyway. But what the Lord Jesus does through us, that bread we offer from Him to others, nourishes their "lasting life." As we simply do our part, we can trust the results to God. And as we invite Christ to use us, great things can happen. God is always doing great things whether or not we take time to notice them!
Pray
Lord, teach me to lean in closer to You and to rely on Your strength. Amen.
