Family Quest
Roller coasters are fun. Loop, lunge, plunge, zip, flip, whirl—if your stomach can hold up, it’s an awesome feeling having your body flung in a zillion directions. But when your life starts to feel this way, that’s a different matter! Take a few minutes to dream up the “ultimate” roller-coaster ride. Draw a picture of it.
Talk It Out
· Read 2 Corinthians 1:10. Who gives us hope when life begins to feel like a roller-coaster ride?
· In what ways is Jesus the “Prince of Peace”?
· What things help you to feel calm and peaceful?
Parent-Child Connection
Life is like a roller coaster—so many ups and downs can take place in a single day. It’s good to let your kids know that this is normal. Help them understand that life often fluctuates between happy moments and stressful ones. But God is always our constant. He is with us no matter what kind of day we are having.
Talk to God
As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for comforting us and (2) ask the Lord for help to trust Him during hardships.
