This phrase has become a rallying cry for us at Back to the Bible. With so many people in our culture living in darkness, it is a reminder that we’ve been given the responsibility and
privilege to reflect the light of Jesus and practice gentle evangelism so others can plainly see His passion, plan, and purpose for them!
We are excited to see that this message is hitting home on our digital discipleship platforms! People of every age and background have discovered the spiritual fitness approach to discipleship, and because of its impact on their lives, they are using it to share God’s Word with others.
My name is Christopher, and I am 23 years old. I have been using your commentary to explain bible sections to my family every night from 7th June, 2023 onwards. I write this letter to express my sincere thanks for your wonderful exposition of God's Word and the beautiful ways in which you have explained everything. It really helps me with my Bible study as well as my family. Thank you and God bless you.
When the love of Jesus fills your heart to the brim and beyond, you can’t help but tell others about Him. This is evangelism. How that happens is as unique as each individual and the situation God has provided for them.
Oh! How I love this new GoTandem BTTB App. I just need to go to bed early and rise early to be able to do all the steps continuously before I go to my daily global prayer gathering with Messianic Jews Arabs and Christians via Zoom. And then to my chores as a 70-year-old until I go to the school bus stop station with two toddlers to pick up the three older grandchildren. -Emy Jane
Our goal through the next year is to motivate and train even more believers to share their faith like Christopher and Emy Jane are doing.
In practical terms, that means creating even more Bible content – content that speaks to the desires of the heart (daily felt needs) and teaches the truths of the Bible. This combination of head and heart knowledge gives believers the needed balance of spiritual nutrition and “exercise”—the “working out” side of salvation.
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure (Philippians 2:12-13).
This is not to say we work for our salvation, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). Rather, we work to honor God and live out His plan and purpose for each of us! "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10).
This brings us back to the idea that when you care, you share! What good works has the Lord put into your hands? How is He blessing you and others as you walk in His plan? How are you caring and sharing?
If you have an inspirational story to share about how God is using you in another person’s life, we’d love to hear it! Send your story to janettej@backtothebible.org.
